Resources Innovation through Information Technology (RIIT) is an Australian not-for-profit company with a mission to create a sustainable technology innovation ecosystem that leverages the strengths of the local resources sector.
Our Board of Directors
Zane Prickett has over 10 years in the Oil and Gas Industry in a variety of international positions. He currently works in Perth on a resource technology startup building the next generation of data distribution services for all forms of resource data. In addition, Zane is an active member of the Australian technology startup community, including Lead GovHack Perth Organizer, Startup Weekend co-organizer, and co-organizer of the Ruby on Rails Oceania group.
Paul Lucey has twenty three years experience in the Resource sector working mainly in the process control, engineering and technology, and innovation space. Paul currently heads up Engineer and Projects for mining company Gold Fields. Paul has a sound knowledge of fix automation, field robotics & visualisation, idea adoption techniques, and innovation in conservative organisations. In the past, Paul has worked in the Innovation Strategy field focusing on ideation and idea adoption.
Justin Strharsky is Managing Director of Synaptor, a company building powerful new tools to keep people safe at work. As a consultant to oil & gas companies in Russia and Australia, Justin has led communications, training, and technology projects to improve safety outcomes. Justin previously worked in the Silicon Valley, where he wrote documents on enterprise management software solutions. Justin is an accomplished public speaker and has presented for such organisations as the Safety Institute of Australia and BigTech13 enterprise mobilty conference. Justin is host of Morning Startup, Perth's premier group for entrepreneurs. Justin also helps to organise and mentors at Startup Weekend events in Perth.
In 2006, Larry Lopez moved from Silicon Valley to Perth, bringing with him his wisdom of technology investment, global venture capital, entrepreneurship and financing for start-up companies. For eighteen years, Larry held senior and executive positions at Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), playing a key role in the growth of the SVB Financial Group from a community bank to a global financial leader. In his role at SVB he sponsored the Bank’s investment in numerous European, Israeli and Australian venture capital funds. Over the years, Larry worked with hundreds of offshore companies launching products in Silicon Valley, and served on boards in Stockholm, London and Australia. Once arriving in Australia, Larry co-founded RedDog Capital Partners, an institutional advisor providing exclusive Australian representation to a publicly traded US financial institution. He is now a partner at Perth based Australian Venture Consultants, a solution driven strategic consulting practice focused on creating successful and commercial outcomes for innovative projects, companies and institutions.
